As far as the historic ravings of some people, opposing women being in the game, it really doesn’t matter. I did find the sound of a woman screaming to be a little chilling and distracting, but after a while, you don’t really notice it.
You aren’t shooting at triangles over peoples heads. That’s pretty much gone. If you visually see an enemy, they are automatically spotted, but if they get behind cover, the spotting goes away. Cover works VERY well, and it must be used to stay alive. Since the spotting works so well, snipers have a hard time since everyone stays in cover and moves as a squad. Rarely did I see anyone splitting off to try and pull off some SpiderMan stunt. The only time you saw that, was when a squad made would do a stealth mission into an enemy capture point, to have his squad spawn on him and take over the point. So if you’re good at staying in cover, a single person can essentially spearhead a point capture. Because of this mechanic, capture points must be defended after captured. If everyone zergs a single point. They will soon see the points they already captured, falling to the enemy real quick.
I would easily say, the biggest negative of this game is the soldier and weapon customization / load-out screen. Before jumping in game for the first time, it took 10 min for me to setup my kit across all toons. Not sure how much this will annoy me as I rank up, but whomever came up with this janky system, needs to have some counselling.
