According to a report published by Thinkum, Apple's job vacancies under the 'Software and Services' category rank higher than the hardware engineering need.

Joshua Fruhlinger, a Thinkum employee, said that this data was generated by the Apple business portal, and that this data was not available on third-party websites. The company added that job vacancies are being monitored since the first quarter of 2016. For this reason, the need for software engineers in previous years is not known.
