Circuit Software: New version of Fritzing released

In May board manufacturer Aisler.net had promised a restart of the development of Fritzing. Since December 1st version 0.9.4 of the circuit software has been released. If you have already installed the program, you can download it for free via the update note – if you want to download it again, you should register against it.

As announced, the update mainly contains minor improvements: seven translations have been improved or added and Fritzing now uses TLS for links. It also eliminates 32-bit support. By switching to Continuous Integration further updates should come faster in the future. As before Fritzing runs on Windows, Macs and Linux.

If you do not have a Fritzing account, see on the page download now the options to pay 8 or 25 euros for the software. This should finance the further development. By clicking on "Pay & Download" you will be redirected to Paypal. With a Fritzing account there is also the option "I already paid" on the download page, which leads directly to the download. In the meantime it is also possible to create a new account. By the way, when starting an old version, there is an update hint, which also sends you directly to the downloads.

In the past three years, the software has fallen asleep, which is still popular among makers. The clear interface for creating circuits with component graphics was specially developed for beginners. After some debates, Aisler.net finally announced the further development in May.
