Mail order retailer: Notebooksbilliger apologizes for delivery problems

Currently, the delivery of orders at the online retailer is delayed. The reason is according to own statements the change on a new enterprise resource planning system. "Despite plenty of preparation and planning, there were problems with this change"says the company in one blog entry and apologizes for the delays.

The editors of Heise Online The incident became aware after some readers reported issues with their deliveries: Customers either did not receive a receipt email or shipping confirmation. The system is probably overloaded. According to Heise, more than 4,500 orders are currently in the queue. Since the conversion, however, the company has shipped about 20,000 parcels.

Christmas business can increase inquiries

The mail order company notes that there is currently a delay in support. The call center is apparently overloaded by the many requests. "The answer takes longer than you are used to from us.", writes the company. It is assured that the team is working very hard to get it done as quickly as possible.

The upcoming Christmas business could be an additional factor for an increased number of orders. That does not exactly suit a solution of the technical problems. 2019 is the online Christmas business according to the Trade Association Germany about 14.7 billion euros.

The AG is according to the EHI Retail Institute with a turnover of 878.5 euros the fifth largest online retailer in Germany.
