The traditional duel of soccer simulations Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) will be canceled this year. PES manufacturer Konami has announced that instead of a new series part, only one “Seasonal update” for the PES 2020 released in September 2019. Details of the updated content were not disclosed.
To do this, the developers are working on a completely new PES. It should “more realistic player models and animations, improved physics, photo-realistic graphics and much more” Offer. To make this work, the Unreal Engine from Epic Games is used.
It is unclear whether it is version 4 of the runtime environment or whether Konami is relying on the recently announced Unreal Engine 5.
The next Pro Evolution Soccer should definitely come onto the market for the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5, but possibly also for the current consoles and for Windows PC. The last PES were based on Konami’s own Fox Engine.
According to Konami, a test of the newly programmed soccer game will take place from mid-2021. The publisher does not yet reveal in what form this takes place. The finished game is supposed to “released later that same year” become. It also says that for the popular game modes My Club and Master League “major updates are in progress”.
Electronic Arts plans to launch Fifa 21 on October 9, 2020 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Windows PC. The console players will later receive a free upgrade to Xbox Series X and Playstation 5.
The PC version should largely correspond to the current gen version. Fifa 21 for the Nintendo Switch is a subtly updated new edition of the previous year.
