The WeAreDeveloperWorld Congress, which should have taken place in the CityCube halls of Messe Berlin on May 28th and 29th, is the next major developer event that was canceled due to the corona virus (COVID-19). On April 15 and 16, 2021, the organizers, the Viennese start-up WeAreDevelopers, are presenting a new date. The event should take place in the same place. Tickets that have already been purchased remain valid.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee was the star guest this year. Fortunately, he has already confirmed the new date, so that visitors can look forward to the inventor of the World Wide Web again next year. Numerous other speakers have apparently also confirmed their participation in the new appointment.
The organizers, who see themselves primarily as a job placement platform for developers and companies, were expecting more than 10,000 participants this year, after the event had around 8,000 visitors last year.
The WeAreDevelopersWorld Congress, probably the largest European developer event, is part of the phalanx of many other large and small IT events and trade fairs that should have taken place this spring, but were canceled or converted to online formats as a result of the corona pandemic, for example Microsoft's build conference, Apple's WWDC or heise secIT and the JavaLand conference.
